Core Flood Apparatus
The core flood apparatus is a modular system that allows the study of rock fluid interactions and flow studies at reservoir conditions (temperature and pressure). This piece of equipment allows the evaluation and optimization of various secondary and tertiary EOR methods which includes: water flooding, polymer injection, ASP/SP injection, and microbial flooding.
Spinning Drop Video Tensiometer
The spinning drop tensiometer is used to measure the interfacial tension between oil and surfactant solutions. The spinning drop method is the preferred technique to measure ultra low interfacial tension.
Goniometer/Pendant Drop Tensiometer
The pendant drop tensiometer is used for routine interfacial tension measurements.
Gas Permeameter
The gas permeameter is used to measure the permeability, the ease in which gas can pass through, of reservoir core samples. By knowing the permeability chemical formulations can be better tailored for the location of their intended use.
Viscometer
The viscosity of the surfactant or polymer slug is very important in determining the oil recovery. The viscometer is used to measure the viscosity of polymer and surfactant formulations.
Spectrophotometer
This instrument operates in the visible range of the electromagnetic spectrum and is used for determining polymer concentrations and turbidity of lab samples.
Density Meter
The density of various liquids is often indicative of the amount of solute dissolved in them. This instrument allows the accurate determination of a liquid's density.
UHPLC
The UHPLC chromatography system is used for the separation of complex mixtures into its individual components. Our system is equipped with CAD and UV-Vis multi-wavelength detectors.
Centrifuge
The centrifuge allows for the quicker separation of oil/water mixtures which also contain surfactants.
Core cutting saw and drill
The inherent nature of EOR requires testing to be carried out on real reservoir rock. To get samples down to the correct size the rock cutting drill and saw are used.
