High Speed Machining Laboratory

This laboratory provides unique capabilities conducting research on high speed machining and high speed spindles. The featured machine (shown on top left) is equipped with a 100hp and 10000 rpm spindle. Other equipment include a high speed horizotal CNC mill (with the maximum spindle speed of 25000 rpm) and a high speed tapping machine (with 2g acceleration).  In addition, a newly developed high speed spindle testrig (shown on bottom left) provides unique capabilities of testing thermal and dynamic charateristics of various high speed spindles.   HIGH SPEED MACHINING  HIGH SPEED SPINDLES   A system with linear motors
