The objective of this thrust area is to develop and implement various intelligent systems methodologies for monitoring, optimization, and control based on soft computing, computational intelligence, machine learning techniques and data-driven approaches. Theoretical foundations are described in the book authored by Professors Shin and Xu and are taught in the graduate level course, ME697Y, Intelligent Systems: Modeling, Optimization and Control.
The following projects have been carried out.
Intelligent condition monitoring and feature recognition of manufacturing processes
Intelligent state estimation of dynamic systems and observer design
Intelligent data-driven control
Data-driven learning and modeling
Robust optimization
Uncertainty estimation of data-driven models
See the published papers on the related areas for further information.
