Purdue Civil Engineering Building Named in Honor of Former JTRP Student

Delon Hampton, earned a master's degree in civil engineering from Purdue in 1958 and a doctorate, also in civil engineering, in 1961. He received an honorary degree from Purdue in 1994. The full text of the press release announcing the building naming can be found on the University News Site.
During his studies at Purdue, Delon was author or co-author on several reports for the Joint Highway Research Program (predecessor to the Joint Transportation Research Program). The photo shown on the right appeared in a technical report he co-authored with Professor Eldon Yoder in 1958.
