On June 6th, JTRP hosted the INDOT Executive Staff on the Purdue campus. Highlights of the visit included a poster session and demonstrations by JTRP researchers at the Niswonger Aviation Technology Building.
The group then ventured across the street to the State Street/Airport Road traffic signal cabinet for a demonstration by INDOT’s John McGregor and Jim Sturdevant. Tours of the CAI/S-BRITE site involved a few INDOT members getting the full experience of being in a man lift to identify defects on a bridge girder. The visit ended with a tour of INDOT’s Research and Development facility in West Lafayette. The day was a great opportunity to showcase our Purdue partnership with INDOT and to discuss future research opportunities.
