I am proud to have mentored several Black Engineers on their way to their PhD degrees here at Purdue. But, whatever I have been able to do as a mentor on the educational side is just a small part of the support that a student needs. That is why the Minority Engineering Program and the National Society of Black Engineers are crucial to everything that we hope to accomplish. They provide the social, professional, and strategic guidance that I cannot. This teamwork is important and makes all of us stronger.
