36th Herbert C. Brown Lectures in Organic Chemistry

This year's event promises to be an exciting celebration to honor the career of Professor H.C. Brown.  The program includes a diverse array of topics in Organic Chemistry by a distinguished group of plenary speakers:

Gregory C. Fu, California Institute of Technology:  "Nucleophilic Substitution Reactions: A Radical Alternative to SN1 and SN2 Reactions"
(Recipient of the 2018 ACS Herbert C. Brown Award for Creative Research in Synthetic Methods)

Benjamin List, Max Planck Institute:  "Designing Extremely Reactive Acid Catalysts to Solve Challenging Problems in Chemical Synthesis"
Sarah E. Reisman, California Institute of Technology:  "Necessity is the Mother of Invention: Natural Products and the Chemistry They Inspire"

Peter H. Seeberger, Max Planck Institute / Free University of Berlin:  "Preventing and Fighting Infectious Disease: Carbohydrate Vaccines and Continuous Production of Medicines"



All interested students, faculty, and scientists are welcome to attend.  Registration is free, and includes lunch for all participants who register by Friday, April 12, 2019.  We also encourage student participants to present their recent works at our poster session and competition, with prizes awarded for the best posters.
