Remote Lab Information



Due to COVID-19, Purdue University classes are moving to an online format which will also include our EPICS lab. Please read the following important announcements to understand how lab will work for the remainder of the semester.
·                   You are still required to log on remotely to lab each Wednesday from 6:00 pm - 7:50 pm EST. (Please be aware of how time zones will affect your log in time).
·                   Due to the increase in email communication, please use the following subject tag line followed by the specific subject matter when communicating club matters.

·                   Weekly notebooks will still be required for all EPICS members and will become even more important during this time to help advisors and TAs understand team and individual progress and contributions to the project.

Bolivian Culture Spotlight



The Guembe Biocenter in Santa Cruz, Bolivia is home to the world's largest butterfly sanctuary stretching for over 46 acres. Located about 7 km outside of the city of Santa Cruz this area is home to more than just butterflies. The area is a natural paradise housing an island full of monkeys, a turtle sanctuary, toucans, and parrots. Of course the main attraction within the park is the butterfly dome; home to thousands of butterflies visitors have the opportunity to walk among the dome observing the animals in a natural habitat.

Along with this, the center is so much more than a butterfly and animal paradise. It also houses a full resort hotel, camping sites, restaurants and bars, and several large lagoons used for kayaking and fishing. The sanctuary is a popular vacation spot offering indoor and outdoor activities such as horseback riding, mountain biking, hiking, and even biolabs where you can learn about the different species you have seen.
