WORKSHOP ON INFORMAL INSTITUTIONS AND INTRACTABLE GLOBAL PROBLEMS, April 16-17, 2012

Dear colleagues,

On behalf of the organizing committee, I wanted to bring your attention to a two-day international workshop at Purdue on the role of informal institutions in thinking about new approaches to intractable global problems. There will be panels on climate change, food security, and women's rights, as well as a theoretical panel on recent work on the role of informal institutions in shaping social and political outcomes and processes. A PDF flier with more information and a link to the workshop web site is attached.

Each panel is open to the Purdue community without registration.

In addition, if you are interested in taking a more active role in the workshop, including attending all four panels, based on your deeper interest in the study of informal institutions in general, please contact Leigh Raymond (lraymond at purdue.edu<mailto:lraymond at purdue.edu>) or Laurel Weldon (weldons at purdue.edu<mailto:weldons at purdue.edu>) for more information.

Thanks, and we hope to see many of you at some of the panels!

Best wishes,

The Workshop Organizing Committee:

Ximena Arriaga, Associate Professor of Psychology Ann Marie Clark,

Associate Professor of Political Science Daniel Kelly, Assistant

Professor of Philosophy Leigh Raymond, Associate Professor of

Political Science S. Laurel Weldon, Professor of Political Science
