Subject: Mandatory safety refresher training - 2019
Importance: High
Hello Everyone!
It is now time to complete the online safety refresher training, which is required for all ChE faculty, staff, graduate students, post-doctoral research associates and visiting researchers/scholars. You can access the training material and take the quiz on any device linked to the internet, including mobile devices such as a smart phone, iPad or other tablets.
Please follow the instructions below and complete this safety refresher training by the end of Monday, April 15, 2019.
Instructions:
1. Access the ChE safety website https://engineering.purdue.edu/ChE/aboutus/safety and click on the Annual Safety Training Refresher<https://engineering.purdue.edu/Intranet/Groups/Schools/ChE/SafetyTraining.html> link under the Training heading. Alternatively, you can follow this link: https://engineering.purdue.edu/Intranet/Groups/Schools/ChE/SafetyTraining.html to access the dedicated safety refresher web page.
2. Log-in with your Purdue credentials and click on the link that best describes your status in our School to access the training material relevant to you.
3. You can choose to download the training material on your computer or open it directly in your browser (in this case you might not be able to access to the training material during the quiz).
4. Read and understand the training material and follow the active links in the document (where applicable) for more information on specific topics.
5. Follow the "Take the quiz" link at the end of the document and take the short quiz to complete this part of the training. Once you complete the quiz, you will receive an email confirming that you completed the training (or part of the training, depending on your status in the School). Save this email and keep it for your own records.
6. If applicable, read the updated lab specific Chemical Hygiene Plan (CHP) developed for the lab you work in (or, as PI, are responsible for) and complete the certification page (page 87 in the CHP template posted on REM's website: https://www.purdue.edu/ehps/rem/documents/programs/chp2014.pdf).
7. Turn in the signed CHP certification page to Sandy Hendryx (FRNY G041) within 10 days of completing the quiz.
Please follow the instructions above and complete the ChE mandatory safety refresher training by the end of Monday, April 15, 2019.
Should you have any questions, please let me know.
Sincerely,
Gabriela
On behalf of the ChE Safety Committee
