Hello everyone,
The ChE Safety Committee updated the "Cylinder Handling Procedures" document, to include recommendations on safe handling and transportation of liquid nitrogen (LN2) tanks with the elevators in FRNY building. The updated document is posted on the ChE safety website https://engineering.purdue.edu/ChE/aboutus/safety , under "Safety Updates", as update #21. The link to this document is:
https://engineering.purdue.edu/ChE/aboutus/safety/documents/safety_update_21.pdf
Please read the document (there are some updates regarding receiving and returning empty gas cylinders, too), and implement these recommendations when you transport LN2 tanks in the building. Please also find attached a copy of this document.
Thank you for your commitment to safety!
Sincerely,
Gabriela
On behalf of the ChE Safety Committee
