Hello everyone,
The ChE Safety Committee updated the "Cylinder Handling Procedures" document, to include recommendations on safe handling and transportation of liquid nitrogen (LN2) tanks, as well as the use of the lifting platform at the receiving area to bring LN2 tanks and full gas cylinders in the building. The updated document is posted on the ChE safety website https://engineering.purdue.edu/ChE/AboutUs/Safety.html , under "Safety Updates", as update #20. The link to this document is:
https://engineering.purdue.edu/ChE/AboutUs/Gas_Cylinder_Handling_Procedures-update%28November-2015%29.pdf
Please read the document and implement these recommendations when you handle and transport gas cylinders and LN2 tanks. Please also find attached a copy of this document.
Thank you for your commitment to safety!
Sincerely,
Gabriela
On behalf of the ChE Safety Committee
