[Cce-faculty-list] Call for Additional Nominations for Lambertus Doctoral Fellowships - current domestic Purdue Master’s students who are applying for PhD study

Hello CCE faculty,



Due to generous funds available from the Lambertus Doctoral and Graduate Excellence Fellowships, the College of Engineering is running a pilot opportunity to nominate current domestic Purdue Master’s students who are applying for PhD study. This creates an opportunity for current master’s students who may be recruited away to other top-tier PhD programs to be nominated for our most prestigious fellowship.



Since we do not require a separate PhD application for master’s students who wish to stay for PhD study, we will need to make sure that the student has submitted a Form 17B<https://www.purdue.edu/academics/ogsps/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/G.S.-Form-17B-w-Funding-Fillable.pdf> (Request for Change of Degree Objective). Please remember that we must provide funding information for the student in order to move them to the PhD program.



We (CCE) can nominate three students. If we do not have any Purdue master’s students we wish to nominate, we may nominate additional PhD applicants who were not part of our initial nomination submission. All nominees must be US Citizens or Permanent Residents.



If you have a student that you would like to nominate, please submit the following information (as one pdf) to me by Wednesday, February 11, 2026.  The CCE Grad Committee with rank the nominations and send our top three to CoE for consideration.  The nomination should include:

            Letter of recommendation from the faculty nominator

            Transcripts (student view copy is acceptable)

            Student resume

            Academic Statement of Purpose (we can use the statement that the student submitted for their MSCE application, or they can provide a new one)



Results of this pilot will be assessed to help determine future opportunities.
