Subject: Civil Engineering Kinnier Dissertation Fellowship

Hello CCE Faculty,

The CCE Grad Office has funds for a Dissertation Fellowship for the 2025-2026 academic cycle. This fellowship is meant to provide support for outstanding PhD candidates in their final year or final semester of doctoral degree completion.  The goal of this fellowship is to allow exceptional candidates to focus on finishing their dissertations.    Additional details can be found on the attached information sheet.

Student Eligibility:
•              At the time of nomination, students must have completed their preliminary exam.
•              Students who will complete their defense prior to September 1, 2025, are not eligible.
•              Students who need less than one semester of support are not eligible.

The following criteria will be used to select recipients:
o Merit: Includes publications, conference presentations, GPA, etc.
o Funding need.
o Good citizen of the School and College. Includes demonstration of participation in service activities
o Career promise. Includes leadership, innovation, readiness and potential to make an impact.

If you would like to nominate a student for the CE Kinnier Dissertation Fellowship, please submit the following materials, as one pdf to me by March 7, 2025:
              Letter from nominating professor confirming the expected graduation date and date of preliminary and semester(s) the fellowship will be used (Fall 2025, Spring 2026 and/or Summer 2026).
              The student’s dissertation abstract
              The student’s CV
              The student’s most recent Purdue transcript
              Summary of funding history for the student
