The NCSPA serves as the technical and industry voice for steel drainage infrastructure. Our engineers and member companies help shape ASTM and AASHTO standards, inform public agency specifications, and translate research and field performance into practical design guidance. We publish widely used technical documents and service-life guidance, maintain a robust library of case studies and resources, and provide training for designers, owners, and contractors so projects perform as intended.

On campus, we partner with civil and construction programs to highlight where steel performs best across modern infrastructure. Applications include stormwater conveyance and storage, culverts, buried bridges, structural plate arches, caissons, and related systems. Through our Education and Research Institute (NERI), we also introduce students to mentors and scholarship opportunities that connect classroom learning with practice.

As part of our dedication to the next generation of engineers and construction professionals, we would be glad to visit your class or student chapter this Fall for a 40-50 minute tailored session. Typical topics include:

  *   Where corrugated steel fits in modern drainage and storage
  *   Design fundamentals, standards, coatings, and service life
  *   Installation and geotechnical considerations
  *   Case studies and a candid Q&A on constructability and specs

Beyond the presentation, we support students through NERI scholarships that bridge classroom learning and real-world practice. Every year NERI awards three scholarships of $2,000 each to eligible juniors, seniors, fifth-year, and master's students in civil engineering, construction management, surveying, and related programs.
