Dear Colleagues,

I am pleased to announce an  upcoming XPS workshop, titled "Practical Aspects of XPS: From Sample Preparation to Spectra Interpretation," scheduled to take place from October 31 to November 2, 2023, between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM. We strongly encourage every research group using Surface Analysis characterization tools or planning to do so to have at least one trained student attend this workshop.

Course Description: XPS, or X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy, is widely utilized to determine the chemical composition of a surface, encompassing factors such as element concentrations, chemical states, lateral and depth distributions, and more. In the contemporary scientific landscape, XPS has emerged as a standard technique for the characterization of solid surfaces. This course will equip attendees with a comprehensive understanding of what information can be obtained through XPS. We will delve into the quantification of XPS data, discussing topics such as thickness calculation, coverage, atomic percentages, and more.
