Subject: Announcing the 2014 Noble Metal Nanoparticles GRS

Dear Colleague,

It is my pleasure to invite you to apply for the 2014 Noble Metal Nanoparticles Gordon Research Seminar (GRS), which will be held at Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts during the weekend of June 14-15, 2014. This year we have invited a fantastic keynote speaker, Prof. Catherine Murphy from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, in addition to several mentors from academia, industry, and federal labs, to participate in an informal Q&A panel.

As an attendee of the inaugural 2012 Noble Metal NPs GRS, we hope you will be interested in attending again this summer. We are also counting on you to help spread the word, so that we can reach out to an even more diverse audience with interesting new research!

Attached with this email is a flyer we have prepared to announce the event. We hope that you could print out some copies and distribute them on departmental message boards, in addition to forwarding them by email to other student contacts in our research field.

Of course we encourage you to first apply to the seminar and the related GRC that takes place the following week. In the spirit of the Gordon Conferences, we expect you to present your newest research findings in poster format. We will also select the best abstracts among interested applicants to fill in the oral presentation sessions of the weekend (so be sure to submit a good abstract!). Finally, a few applicants will be selected to serve as discussion leaders during the research sessions. As previous attendees with a good idea of how the seminar works, you would be excellent candidates either for an oral presentation or as a discussion leader, so please consider checking those boxes on the application!

The application deadline to be considered for an oral presentation is March 14, 2014.

The general deadline for a poster presenter is May 17, 2014.

The online application can be found here by clicking 'Online Application' in the upper right panel:
