Below is the current condition of Birck Center Operations.  All general labs are open for research but the cleanroom remains closed.

Update 7/25/24 @8:20PM


*         Laboratory HVAC (Operational)

*         Cleanroom HVAC (Tomorrow PM - cleanroom to decontaminate)

*         Chemical Exhaust Systems (Operational)

*         General and Public Spaces HVAC (Operational)

*         Ultra-pure Water System (Operational - Below UPW specification)

*         Process cooling water (Operational - Low tank level)

*         Acid  Waste System (Operational)

*         Toxic Gas Delivery/Monitoring (Tomorrow AM)

*         Research Tool (Check ILabs for status)

Dear BNC user



All power has been restored to the building and we are currently restarting building systems.  There was a fresh dead squirrel found in one of the switch gears outside that shorted between power phases in our gear.  The cleanroom went slightly negative during the power outage so it will take up to 24 hours before the cleanroom to stabilize and decontaminate.   I will update the follow list as conditions change in the building.

*         General and Public Spaces HVAC (1-2 hours)

Parts of the Purdue West Lafayette campus are experiencing a power outage.

Purdue's Energy and Utilities team is aware and working on restoring power.
