[Bnc-facility-notice] BRK Network Infrastructure Upgrade on 3/11/19 & 3/13/19

ITaP and its partner contractor Presidio will be upgrading Purdue's campus data network and wireless system in BRK which will require periodic outages as the new equipment is installed and brought online.



Network switch replacement will involve a total building outage, including VoIP phones, the night the new switches are activated. We plan on upgrading your building on Monday, 3/11 and Wednesday, 3/13. The upgrades will begin at 11:00 P.M and last until 6:00 A.M the following morning. Since your building is larger than other buildings on campus we need an extra day to finish the upgrade. After the first night's maintenance is complete at 6:00 A.M networking services will resume like normal until the Wednesday night maintenance begins at 11:00 P.M.



In addition, as new wireless access points are installed there will be periodic losses of wireless coverage in areas where these access points are located, while the old access points are being retired and the new access points are being brought into service. The interruptions should be less than 10 minutes per access point.
