End of an Era

Our Vistec VB6 electron beam lithography system was manufactured in 2000.  In 2005/2006 it came to Purdue and was updated, installed and accepted in 2006.  It has been in operation for 12 years now and has been a critical tool for the research here at Purdue and the Birck Nanotechnology Center.  It will be available for research work for one more week, and then starting Monday May 14th, Vistec (Raith now) will be coming in to test various boards for one week.  On Monday May 21st it will be fully de-commissioned and dismantling of it will start.  It should take about a week to dismantle and ship parts back to Raith.  It has served us well.

The new JEOL 8100FS electron beam is its replacement.  It is performing well and user training continues.  Please see Justin Wirth or Bill Rowe for information & training on the JEOL 8100.

The Discovery Park Ambassador Program is an organized program supported by the Birck Nanotechnology Center, Bindley Bioscience Center and Discovery Park Administration. The mission of the program is to represent Discovery Park with the highest level of scientific integrity and professionalism at all engagement events and activities. The ambassadors' expected responsibilities include Discovery Park tours, engagement activities/events, K-12 workshops and industry engagement opportunities identified by the Engagement Coordinator. Ambassadors will be compensated accordingly by providing these important services to Discovery Park.

Hallway Floor Cleaning Schedule

5/8/2018 - BRK 2019 to BRK 2027 (offices closed until 10:00AM)

5/9/2018 - BRK 2287 to BRK 2295 (offices closed until 10:00AM)

5/10/2018 - The hallway on 2nd floor around stairway (Stairway and elevator closed until 10:00AM)

5/11/2018 - Area in front of cleanroom (you will still be able to access cleanroom from side hallways)

5/15/2018 -BRK 2262 to BRK 2283 (offices closed until 10:00AM)

5/16/2018 -West hallway in the main part of building. (BRK 2251, west stairwell, and elevator closed till 10:00AM)

5/17/2018 -  BRK 2218 - BRK 2239 (offices closed until 10:00AM)

5/18/2018 - West hallway next to cleanroom (you must enter cleanroom on the west side will 10:00AM)

5/22/2018 - East hallway next to cleanroom (you must enter the cleanroom on the east side till 10AM)

5/23/2018 - East hallway 2nd floor (east stairwell, walkway to Bindley, and desk in east atrium, and 2nd       floor lockers closed until 10:00AM.

5/24/2018 - BRK 2072 - BRK 2092 (offices closed until 10:00AM)

5/25/2018 - West Tour aisle by cleanroom (no freight elevator access until 10:00AM. (J- bay enter on east)

5/30/2018 - BRK 2031 to BRK 2050 (offices closed until 10:00AM)
