The All User Meeting is scheduled for the dates below:

Cell Culture Basic Training Workshop

Dear Fellow Scientists,

Starting with spring 2017, the 3D Cell Culture Core (3D3C) facility plans to run a series of three workshops covering basic cell culture techniques, basic 3D cell culture techniques and microscopic visualization of 3D cell cultures once every semester.   You may choose to attend one or several workshops in the series.  A 5% discount will be offered to individuals who register for two workshops and a 10% discount will be applied for registration to the three workshops within the semester.

The first 3D3C workshop on basic cell culture techniques is scheduled on February 16 & 17, 2017.  Participation in the workshops requires having REM biosafety training and blood borne pathogen training.  The course fee for this first workshop is $250 (see flyer attached for more information).  There is no prerequisite for the workshop. The registration deadline is January 27, 2017.  If you are interested or have questions, please feel free to contact me.  Thank you.

iLabs Help Sites:

As you know, the Birck Nanotechnology Center is in the process of converting from Coral over to a new lab management software package, called iLabs.  Several instruments are already converted, and more are being done in January.  Some helpful 'Tool Kits' have been developed to assist users in understanding iLabs and navigating through the various aspects of the software.  These tool kits are liked below, and we would encourage you to review any or all to help answer any questions you may have or address any issues you may have encountered.  These include Quick Reference Cards that help walk you through the different iLabs processes.  There is a training video included as well.

Station Q Purdue Semiconductor Processing Engineer

We are seeking a Semiconductor Processing Engineer at Station Q Purdue housed within the Birck Nanotechnology Center at Purdue University.   Station Q Purdue is focused on development of new hybrid structures topological quantum computing.

A successful candidate will fabricate devices composed of III-V semiconductor-superconductor-magnetic insulator hybrid structures. Responsibilities will also include optimization of processing of InSb-based devices, and development of processing recipes for new combinations of semiconductors and superconductors.

Cryogenic Electrical Characterization Engineer

We are seeking a Cryogenic Electrical Characterization Engineer at Station Q Purdue housed within the Birck Nanotechnology Center at Purdue University.   Station Q Purdue is focused on development hybrid semiconductor-superconductor systems for topological quantum computing.   Engineering responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * mobility and density measurements of two-dimensional electron gases at T=4K and below *operation and maintenance of both wet and dry cryogenic refrigeration systems including systems operating at T=0.3K and T=20mK *electronics trouble-shooting, and computer-controlled data collection.   Requirements: *3 years of experience with low temperature electrical measurements is required *Demonstrated ability to interface computers with electrical measurement hardware is required *Previous experience with the operation of a dilution refrigerator is highly desired *A bachelor's degree in Physics or Electrical Engineering or allied field is a minimum *Applicants need to demonstrate basic understanding of electron transport in semiconductors *A successful applicant will demonstrate the ability to work productively within a goal-oriented team.

Molecular Beam Epitaxy Operations Engineer

We are seeking a Molecular Beam Epitaxy Operations Engineer at Station Q Purdue housed within the Birck Nanotechnology Center at Purdue University.

Station Q Purdue is focused on development of new hybrid semiconductor-superconductor platforms for topological quantum computing.   A successful candidate will operate, maintain, and develop new growth protocols in a multi-chamber molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) system that combines arsenide- and antimony-based III-V semiconductor growth with in-situ superconductor deposition.   This system was specifically designed to develop new physical platforms for topological quantum computation.
