All Users Meeting

The all User Meeting is scheduled for the dates below:

Tuesday, January 21, 2014 7:00 PM-8:00 PM         Lily Hall 1-105

Please attend either of the sessions. Failure to do so will result in suspension from the labs and cleanroom.

Cleanroom Chemical Exhaust Shut Down

To add chemical exhaust for the future laboratories, a required shut down of our solvent and acid exhaust systems for the BIO cleanroom and main cleanroom are needed.  This interruption will require shut down of all toxic gases, cleanroom fume hoods, and cleanroom chemical research equipment.  The general laboratories will not be affected by this interruption unless research requires toxic gases.

The exhaust shut down is planned for January 7, 2014 from 7 AM to 4PM.  The exhaust fans will remain running but the static pressure will drop below safety limits when the sheet metal contractors cut into the main chemical exhaust ducts.

CLEANROOM: The cleanroom will be shut down on Tuesday, January 7, 2014, from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. No one is allowed in the cleanroom during this period.
HAZARDOUS GASES: No hazardous gases will be available in the building during this period.
BIOCLEANROOM: No exhaust will be available in the bio cleanroom. Non-chemical activities may be carried out.

GENERAL LABORATORIES: General laboratories will operate as normal, but no hazardous gases will be available.

Holiday Closing

Purdue University will be closed January 1st.

Physical Vapor Deposition Users

As a reminder Dave Lubelski will be out of the office for an extended medical leave after Friday, December 20th.  He is expected back in 6 - 8 weeks.  During this time please contact Mike Bayless with any requests for changing materials, depositions, or problems with the Leybold, Lesker, or PVD evaporators.  Please contact Kenny Schwartz concerning any issues with the PVD sputtering system, or the Veeco, Airco, Varian or CHA evaporators.
