All BNC Users -
The preventive maintenance shutdown of the Birck Nanotechnology Facility has been completed successfully due to the efforts the Engineering Staff and the Zone 7 Physical Facilities trades. The cleanroom and laboratories are now open for operation.
Some equipment is still shut down for maintenance, or is in the process of being started back up. Please check Coral for individual equipment status.
During the shutdown Coral was upgraded to the latest version. We also implemented the collection of data when you disable some equipment. Metallization equipment will require users to record metal type, thickness, base pressure (e.g. 1e-7) and time. This replaces the paper log for collecting precious metal usage. The Raith and VB6 now need to be enabled at the beginning of equipment use (ie loading your sample and during pumping). When you disable, you will be asked for the write time of the job.
If you have questions about Coral, please send them to coral at ecn.purdue.edu
Thank you for your patience and understanding during this set of important preventive-maintenance procedures.
