[BNC-all] New Laboratory Policies

To all laboratory users in the Birck Nanotechnology Center:

 

As most of you are aware, there has been a joint team reviewing the
operating policies in the BNC laboratories for several months.  This team,
chaired by David Janes, consists of faculty, staff, and students who are
involved in the operation of the laboratories and cleanroom.  The team has
made the first set of revisions to the policies, these revisions have been
approved by the co-directors of the center, and are now released.  The new
policies, shown on the attached slides, are effective immediately.  Postings
in support of this document will be going up in the next few days, but the
policies are now in force.

 

It is understood that these policies are a living document, and there will
be changes taking place as needed.  While there were several items of
discussion that had not yet been resolved, the team believed that it was
important to release this information while still working on further
revisions.

 

I would like to thank the many people - students, faculty, and staff - who
participated in this process and provided valuable input.
