Vibrant Art on Display
Professor Vilas Pol and Visiting Scholar Saibhargava Reddy Mandapati have their art displayed in the Vibrant Arts Exhibition in Armstrong Hall of Purdue University. Through their artistic creations, the innovative and creative nature of these researchers is unmistakably evident, demonstrating that scientific rigor and artistic vision are complementary expressions of intellectual curiosity.
Vibrant Arts is a Purdue College of Engineering initiative that showcases the creativity and imagination of faculty, staff, and students within the College. The initiative aims to demonstrate that Purdue University's College of Engineering is the Pinnacle of Excellence at Scale in both technical and creative endeavors.
The two artistic creations from ChE depict prismatic and sea coral-mimicked materials under scanning electron microscopy—two-dimensional MXenes that store energy effectively at room, low and high temperatures. “The authenticity of these superstructures lies in their fabrication: they are synthesized in a microwave in minutes”, Pol said.
