Tijs Van Oevelen graduated with a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering at KU Leuven (University of Leuven, Belgium) in 2008. Afterwards he obtained his PhD of Engineering Science from KU Leuven in 2014 under the supervision of Dr. Tine Baelmans. The research in his PhD project focused on optimal shape and topological design of single-phase microchannel heat sinks. Currently, he works as a post-doctoral research associate in Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University with Dr. Garimella and Dr. Weibel. His main research topic is about two-phase microchannel cooling systems.
