Richard is a licensed professional engineer (PE) whose career has spanned 17 years and concentrated in the automotive industry, advanced materials, and alternative fuels. Richard holds a BSME from Georgia Institute of Technology and an MSME from Purdue where he focused on vibrations and acoustics. Most recently, Rich served a three year science and technology (S&T) policy fellowship at the State Department, providing technical analysis and engagement on international policy issues related to renewable energy. Prior to that, he led thermal science and composite material development within the automotive industry, and later technical design for advanced machinery related to alternative fuel conversion and heat transfer. Rich is a board member and technical advisor of two companies and holds multiple patents. He is married with one child who is his daily reminder of the 2nd Law.
