Vice President of Corporate, Renewables, and Policy Strategy, Marathon Petroleum Corporation
John Kremer has held a wide range of positions during his nearly 16 years with Marathon Petroleum Company (MPC) and
currently serves as vice president of corporate, renewables, & policy strategy. His team has responsibility for
MPC/MPLX's corporate strategy, renewables and low-carbon investment strategies, facilitating an emerging technology
investment process, and leading a policy strategy team. In this role, his team has developed and executed strategies and
investments in lower-carbon energy solutions, including renewable diesel, renewable natural gas, ethanol production, and
other decarbonization solutions. He has facilitated investments with both large publicly traded companies and smaller
emerging technology firms with the potential to have meaningful impacts on our energy future. Prior to this role, he
worked to coordinate strategies and activities across several of MPC's larger business units and helped to lead the
integration of a multi-billion-dollar acquisition.
His first 10 years with MPC were spent in various operations and engineering roles, starting as an individual
contributor leading projects for midstream engineering energy solutions. Next, he moved into leadership roles that
afforded him different perspectives and challenges on the complexities and responsibilities of running 24/7/365
operations to supply critical products to the nation. He then returned to engineering leadership, mentoring young
professionals fresh out of college.

have been valuable across many different roles and responsibilities at MPC and I am thankful for such a strong
foundation from my time at Purdue," Kremer said.
