Bruker Biospec 7T small bore MRI system at the Small Animal MRI Facility in the Bindley Bioscience Center
The Purdue MRI Facility added the Bruker Biospec 7T MRI system in spring of 2014, thanks to the efforts of Professor Corey Neu (now unfortunately at UC-Boulder) and the Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering. Located in the basement of the Bindley Bioscience Center, the 7T MRI system is used by researchers from Biomedical Engineering, Health Science, Chemistry, Biology, the Vet School, and others. Equipped with various coils and probes, the 7T MRI system is tasked with the imaging of small animals, such as mice and rats, as well as small samples and materials. As of 2021, the Director of the Small Animal MRI Facility is now BME's Dr. Deva Chan.
