WON LABORATORY AT PURDUE UNIVERSITY

 

Our laboratory studies problems fundamental to developing new ways (nanotechnologies) to treat cancer and respiratory diseases. Areas of focus include: (1) development of nanoparticle therapeutics (radio-sensitizers and pulmonary surfactants) and polymer-based drug/gene delivery systems, (2) investigations on interfacial phenomena of polymers (with emphasis on Langmuir monolayers of polymers, block copolymer micelles, and polymer/polyelectrolyte brushes), (3) understanding of the complex behavior of charged polymers (“polyelectrolytes”), and (4) fabrication of complex functional structures by self-assembly of block copolymers and colloids.
