This guide provides a concise summary of topics (e.g., effective area for tension members, lateral torsional buckling) along with a key to relevant sections in the AISC Specifications and associated design aids in the Steel Construction Manual. The guide was developed for a second, senior-level course in steel design.

Have you reserved AISC manuals for your students?

There is a new student manual discount program, with new professor coupon codes and a new shipping procedure.


Reminder -- AISC has revamped their student manual discount program. Professors now reserve books (click here) for the number of students they expect for the upcoming term. Professors will be issued a NEW coupon code. All coupon codes issued before December 1 are invalid. Once the student pays online at the student payment website, the Manual will be shipped directly to the student's address. The standard shipping option (free) is expected to take 3-5 business days. AISC Steel Construction and Seismic Manuals are $125 each, and the Detailing for Steel Construction Manual is $55. Students may pay by check, but there is a $10 handling fee.
