Signal Processing

In these papers, we used a combination of mathematical methods to address various signal processing problems, including PDEs, invariants, and Lie algebras as well as more standard numerical signal processing techniques. Some of these papers are purely application papers, while others are more mathematical.

  9. Here I used the generators for the lie algebra of the group of rotations in R^n to optimize a cost function on a sphere. Turns out the optimal solution could be expressed as an eigenvalue problem.

  2. This paper solves the question of how to extend the distribution of distance approach for the recognition of noisy points. The answer is to look at the pdf of the pairwise distance between two points drawn i.i.d. from the Gaussian mixture that represents the point+noise model.
