Antti was one of my favorite professors during my 5 years of undergraduate and graduate studies. I had him for EE 483 but also another class, but honestly not sure which. He always made himself available to students virtually at all hours to help personally champion their success.
Dr. Koivo mentored many students within his class and outside his class mostly during his personal time, including helping me. His efforts and commitment made an impact on my education including reasoning skills to take on real work challenges, notwithstanding favorably impacting my overall Purdue experience, which I am very much in gratitude for.

Comments: Professor Koivo was always available, without any reservation or hesitation, to explain and teach. I recall going to Professor Koivo's office on numerous occasions and seeking help with various topics in the course. He had an open door policy. I always felt welcome to drop in, or even call him at home, and ask questions. He took great care in explaining difficult concepts and in ensuring that I truly understood the pertinent issues. To this date whenever I embark on learning any complex topic, the first image that comes to my mind is Professor Koivo at the blackboard in his office back during my Purdue years. He encourages me to learn and understand. Professor Koivo really symbolized the role of a teacher in its true sense. For that, I am always grateful to him.
