In each movie, the grayscale contours indicate density field in center plane of computational domain, and the orange contours indicate skin friction magnitude at the no-slip wall.

Cases

• Case 1: This is the baseline flow.
• Case 2: This a forced case with amplitude 0.012 and frequency 0.002.
• Case 3: This a forced case with amplitude 0.024 (double Case 2) and frequency 0.002.
• Excessive Forcing: This a forced case with amplitude 0.120 (ten times Case 2) and frequency 0.002. At this level of forcing, the body force causes local separation and the mean flow is distorted.
• Case 4: This a forced case with amplitude 0.012 and frequency 0.020 (ten times Case 2).
