Windows Media Streaming of WLFI TV-18

using a software encoder

In the Video and Image Processing Laboratory (VIPER), we are now multicasting a Windows Media stream of our local CBS affiliate, WLFI TV-18. To receive this stream, you need to use Windows Media Player. This work is under the direction of Prof. Edward Delp.

Instructions

To use an external Media Player:

• Start Media Player

• From "File -> Open...", open:
  • mms://viper1.ecn.purdue.edu/viperlab

Notes

• Current settings: 150 kbps, 15 fps, MS MPEG-4 V3

• We use a Videum capture board as digitizer

• The target data rate changes periodically

• The server may be down at times for maintenance or fine-tuning

• If you can't connect, please try at a later time
