This is a grassed waterway beside a field that will be row cropped and a pasture to the right. A fence keeps cattle out of the waterway to prevent possible damage. The small amount of water seen in the bottom of the waterway can be a potential problem in that it will kill the grass unless removed. A subsurface drain is often placed under waterways to prevent water from ponding in the bottom of the waterway for extended periods of time.
