Building Operations Manager
Dave Rowe
Mr. Rowe is responsible for the daily operations of the ECE and MSEE Buildings which includes such things as building maintenance, room environments, repairs to the building facilities, and repair of furniture etc.. He also acts as a liaison between the School of ECE and Physical Plant.
Dave is also responsible for the ECE property accounting and disposal of equipment and facilities.

Building Allocations/Projects Manager
Steve Devault
Mr. Devault handles all tasks associated with the assignment of offices and keys. Steve obtains required information, makes necessary contacts, assists in implementing and, in coordination with the Building Operations Manager, generally oversees all building repair, construction, and remodeling projects. Steve also oversees the mail service operation, with supervision of the mail clerk, and provides back-up to the Building Operations Manager.

Mailboxes are provided for professorial, professional and graduate student staff; the boxes are located on the second floor on the wall outside room 241A in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Building. U.S. and campus mail are posted by 10:00 AM and 2:30 PM week days; there is no delivery on Saturday, Sundays and Holidays. Allow time for mail to be sorted and posted each day.
Postage will not be furnished by the School for personal mail. However, postage will be furnished for mail pertaining to business directly related to duties at the University. Place such mail in the appropriate outgoing mailbox, and the postal person will apply the necessary postage. If you anticipate large quantities of mailing (such as project reports, etc.), make special arrangements with the postal person in room 241A. Research contracts have provisions for postage and if the Mailing is related to a research contract, please attach to the material a postage charge slip indicating how to send and your account number. This will eliminate any delay in mailing and will assure that the charge is made to the proper contract. If you don't know the account umber, contact the business office.
Please use your mailbox number on ALL correspondence. Please check your mailbox periodically for departmental and other notices. All correspondence should be addressed to you in the following manner:

3. Building Security
As a member of the staff of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, you must assume some responsibility for the security of the Electrical Engineering Building, Materials Science Electrical Engineering Building, and equipment. By virtue of your staff appointment, you have been issued keys which allow your access to the Building itself on Sundays and holidays and to certain areas in the EE Building and MSEE at times when the area may be closed to the general public. Do not jeopardize the special privileges granted you as a staff member by opening the Building or any area in the Building to an individual who does not have a key to the area in question. You should assume that if the individual does not have a key to the area, then he/she is not authorized to be in the area.
4. Keys
Office and building keys are issued by Mr. Devault. Staff leaving the University permanently or moving to another building must return all keys before departing. Graduate students not on campus during the summer must return all keys before leaving for the summer. Keys are not to be given or transferred to any other persons. In order to get a key for a lab, written authorization or e-mail by the person in charge of the lab must be presented to Mr. Devault before he will issue any keys.
5. Access to Graduate Computer Room
Graduate students may access the graduate computer room in 280 of the MSEE building by having the Site specialist program your Purdue ID card to allow entrance to 280 via the card reader located outside the room. This same card may be programmed to allow you access to the second floor of the MSEE building via the card reader access located on the north stairwell door entrance to the second floor. In most cases the Site specialist will program your card to give you access to the second floor of MSEE as well as to the 280 computer room. There will be no keys issued to th MSEE building except if you have an office in this building or need authorized access to the sub-basement labs or for other special considerations.
6. Office and Laboratory Furniture
Questions involving additions to office equipment or furniture should be taken to the Building Operations Manager. Do not move office furniture from one office to another without first obtaining approval from the Building Operations Manager. Under no circumstances can permanent electrical equipment such as convenience outlets, switches, fuse boxes or fuses be modified without approval of the University Physical Plant through proper request forms by the Building Operations Manager.
7. Safety
Anyone supervising laboratory sessions and/or doing experimental research is responsible for enforcing the customary safety rules and/or taking ordinary precautions to prevent accidents to students. A Hazards Management Committee exists to help you with special problems. No bicycles are allowed in the building. No persons are allowed in the building wearing roller blades or skates, and the use of skate boards is prohibited.
8. Personal Belongings
Personal belongings are, in all cases, the responsibility of the individual staff member. University insurance does not cover the loss of personal items and you are, therefore, encouraged to take percautions as necessary to prevent losses.
9. Phones
