|Welcome to the public
website for the AAE55000 "Multidisciplinary Design Optimization in
Aerospace Engineering" course. While the course catalog
uses AAE55000 as the course number, AAE 550 is the common way to
refer to this course.
This course in the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics at Purdue University is targeted to graduate students and senior-level undergraduates who wish to learn about engineering design optimization and gain experience solving multidisciplinary design problems using optimization techniques.
For the Fall 2019 semester, this course is available to on-campus and distance students in an asynchronous delivery format.
This public website contains basic information about the AAE550 class, including contact information for the instructor and teaching assistant(s), the syllabus, and the list of topics (found on the schedule page). Access to recorded videos, distribution of handouts to use while watching the corresponding videos, as well as both distirbution and collection of homework / project assignments, homework solutions, etc. uses Purdue's Blackboard site. Students must register for AAE550 and have a Purdue career account to access Blackboard. The lecture notes use the Adobe Reader *.pdf format.
The instructor often updates and modifies these pages to meet the needs of the class, so some links might not work exactly as expected. All material needed for class should be available; if you find this is not the case, please e-mail the teaching team. Information given in class will supersede information given in these pages.
|The Fall 2019 course is an asynchronous, on-line format. There are no in-person lectures. You can watch the associated videos at a time convienent for you.|
