You have entered the Erosion Control Zone

PART I

The current method of selecting erosion control products is based on the expected hydraulic shear stresses or peak velocites in the channel. Most erosion control authorities support this performance based approach rather than an index based approach.

In order to use this segment of the server, you need to know the design shear and/or velocity for your channel. Typically this requires an assumption of channel geometry and knowledge of the peak flow. Using this information, a Manning's or shear stress analysis provides the required design parameters. If you do not have these values, go to Part II.

If you are unsure of what values to select, visit the HELP page.
