CE 686: Underground Construction

The objective of the course is that students become proficient with the most important aspects of planning, analysis, design, and construction of underground structures in soft ground and rock. The focus of the course is in the understanding of the interaction between the ground and the structure. Construction methods and types of support will be described and their effects on the surrounding ground evaluated.
