Placement

A child's need for Challenge Program services is determined following state guidelines. Standardized test scores, academic records, performance assessment, teacher recommendations, parent referral, student self-referral, and other relevant information are considered. Screening and placement procedures are conducted corporation-wide by grade level each spring. Students may also be referred mid-year. Parents or teachers who feel their students have need for Challenge Program services may refer children for consideration by contacting their building principal, challenge coordinator or Assistant Coordinator.
