Challenge Parents' Meeting Minutes
September 30,1997
Hiatt Administration Center
7:00 p.m.
Dr. Vicki Vaughn welcomed all in attendance and introduced herself
as the Program Coordinator, Barb Knott as her Assistant and the teachers
from the Challenge Program that were present. Dr. Vaughn proceeded to
explain the format for the evening. All in attendance would be asked to
prioritize seven items (see attached sheet) to arrive at a small group
consensus and present the prioritized list to the larger group. A brief
description of each item was given and questions pertaining to a
particular item were fielded. The exercise was to develop a direction and
a purpose for a Challenge Program parent support organization. The small
groups were determined by the letter on the name tag each received as
sign-in was completed. This procedure mixed the groups with different
schools and grade levels.
Upon completion of discussion the groups reported as follows:

scheduled for November 5, Wednesday, at Hiatt starting at 6:30 p.m.
Dr. Vaughn answered questions about identification and parent
concerns and also noted information such as membership applications for
NAGC and IAG available on the back table. Dr. Vaughn thanked those in
