He did his bachelor&#8217;s in chemical engineering from the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela, India. He will be working on the cybernetic modeling of eukaryotic systems, specifically the role of macrophage polarization in wound healing and cancer. Till now, the cybernetic framework has been used to model control in metabolic networks inside a single cell. Prateek will expand the cybernetic framework to incorporate tissue-level regulation and look at how multiple cell types come together to orchestrate the complex process of wound healing. This research is in collaboration with the research group of Professor Shankar Subramaniam in Bioengineering at UCSD.&nbsp;<b><br><\/b><\/p>\n<p><strong>&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n\n<p><strong><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-1461 size-full alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/engineering.purdue.edu\/ramkiites\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/YS-scaled-e1744847583685.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"183\" height=\"235\">Yongseok Choi<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Yongseok joined our research group in Fall 2024 as a Graduate research assistant. He completed his bachelor&#8217;s degree <span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">from the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at Korea University in Seoul, South Korea.<\/span> He will be working on the cybernetic modeling of cancer.<b><br><\/b><\/p>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<p><strong>&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<p><b>&nbsp;<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4>      <\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>                                       <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Prateek Gupta Prateek joined our research group in Fall 2023 as a Graduate research assistant.
