DCSL interaction with CERIAS industrial attendees to the annual symposium

Where: EE 338

When: Apr 4 (Thu) 3.45-5.30

The CERIAS annual symposium is happening Apr 3-4 with a slew of influential researchers, practitioners, and corporate leaders from various industrial and government organizations. Our lab has been selected as one that they would like to visit to interact with the students and optionally see some demos. This is meant not just for students involved in security projects; all of you can participate since you are working in the overall area of dependability, which is of interest to CERIAS partners.

Benefits to you are obvious: exposure of your work and that can lead to all the usual good things - collaboration, internships, jobs, etc.

You also can be there for part of the total time window. To participate, you should have a 3-5 slide summary of your work to date and future vision, and optionally, some demo of a running system. The demo does not need to have fancy visualizations; it can be simple as command lines shown on screen. You do need to think of the scenario that you are demonstrating and be able to explain it.

Caveat: The open house is billed as an informal, free-flowing event. Lots of people may show up, only a few may show up, or maybe even no one will show up. Also, they may drop in at any time in that time window. I will be there myself 3.45-5.00.
