Aung Kyi San was born in Burma(Myanmar). He received his B.Eng (summa cum laude) in electronics engineering, from Assumption University, Thailand in 2002 and MSECE from Purdue University, West Lafayette in 2005. He is currently pursuing his Phd in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Purdue University, West Lafayette. During his undergraduate studies at Assumption University, he received the University Council's Certificate of honors every year. He was awarded a special scholarship from the president of the Assumption University for his academic excellence. During his graduate studies at Purdue University, he has served as a graduate teaching assistant, a graduate instructor and a graduate research assistant. He received a Graduate Teacher Certificate and an Advanced Graduate Teacher Certificate from Purdue University. He also received the Magoon Excellence in Teaching award in 2006. His research interests include statistical optics in random scattering media and application of interferometer methods in measuring dynamic media characteristics.
