About Me

Arun Prakash obtained his Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi in 1999. He obtained his Master’s in 2001 and Ph.D. in 2007, specializing in Computational Structural and Solid Mechanics, from Civil & Environmental Engineering, at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He held a joint appointment as a post-doctoral scholar and lecturer in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of California at Los Angeles from August 2007 to August 2009. In August 2009, he joined the School of Civil Engineering at Purdue University as an Assistant Professor in the Structures area. His research interests are primarily focused on developing efficient computational methods for coupled multi-scale and multi-physics problems in various fields of mechanics, science and engineering.
