When trying to login, do you see an error that says 'Invalid username/password or not registered for the current semester'? If you're having trouble logging in there are a few common things that you can try before it becomes necessary to seek further assistance. This section will help you to understand these common problems and learn what to do. Of course, if you're still having trouble after reading through this section, please feel free to contact our staff using the information provided.
Two Factor Authentication
The first thing to know about our website is that we do NOT yet support two-factor authentication. This means that you'll need to utilize your normal career account password while on our site, not the push pin.
If you're allowing your browser to save your password instead of typing it in by hand, that could very well be causing your problem. Browsers usually save one password per domain (ie purdue.edu) but since Purdue has multiple websites which don't always use the same password, they can sometimes overwrite each other. This will happen if you login to a site like myPurdue which uses two-factor authentication, save your password there, and then try to login to our site which uses your normal password. The saved password will fail because myPurdue just overwrote it with the newer version.
'Online-only Student' or 'Student with Online Access'
Please note that this login screen is solely for our online-only post-graduate students. Certain courses do have other online offerings, however the login information for those courses will be passed out by your professor and will not utilize this particular login screen. If you believe you've signed up for the wrong course offering, please contact our office immediately using the phone number at the bottom of this page.
Resetting Your Password
Resetting your password can often times be a quick fix for some otherwise very difficult problems. This can be accomplished in one of three ways.
- If you're able to login to other Purdue sites (like myPurdue), you can reset your password here: https://www.purdue.edu/apps/account/ChangePassword.
- If you're not able to login to other Purdue sites, you can reset your password here: https://www.purdue.edu/apps/account/SSPasswordReset.
- If neither of those links are able to help you with resetting your password, you can reset your password by contacting ITaP (firstname.lastname@example.org or 765-494-4000).
Please note that our staff will not be able to help with password issues, so please be sure to contact ITaP if you need assistance with your password.
Clearing Your Browser Cache
It's possible for your browser to hold on to bad information even after you've done something like reset your password. This could make it seem like your password reset didn't work even though it's really the browser's fault for not fetching the new information. To fix this, you'll need to clear your browser's cache. This is relatively simple to do but can vary from browser to browser. For complete instructions that are specific to your situation, please visit https://www.refreshyourcache.com.
Contacting Our Support Team
