GETTY LeBron James is set to be the biggest free agent on the market this summer
James hits free agency this summer and it is no secret that the underperforming and inconsistent Cavs could see their best player walk away from his home town for the second time in his career. Speaking on this week’s edition of The Lowe Post podcast, Cavs insider Brian Windhorst said the team’s shoddy performance in the postseason has inevitably influenced his decision on where he will play next year. “All I’m going to say is that you don’t want LeBron to have two months to plot with other players,” Windhorst said.

“Chris Paul and James Harden have written the script [on this]. While the finals are going on if they’re not in it [players] get together in LA and plot how they’ll get together...If LeBron is [eliminated and] left to his own devices and not focused on playing basketball for two months and he can take meetings with everybody in the league, forget about July 1st. “Forget about the teams that are gonna pitch him. The meetings are gonna go down in May and June if LeBron’s out of the playoffs...We’re gonna get down to June 29th, when LeBron’s option date is or when the draft is, and the Cavs are gonna have to ask LeBron ‘what are we gonna do here?’. “I don’t even know if [his free agency] will get to July, this all might be mitigated in June...LeBron has the ability to construct and put together [the team] that he wants.
