GETTY Roger Federer has ditched Nike for Uniqlo
Federer has been a Nike ambassador for over two decades and he won all 20 Grand Slam titles while wearing their clothes. The Swiss star’s contract with the American sports company expired in March and he announced his new deal with Uniqlo at Wimbledon on Monday. Federer is said to have signed a blockbuster contract with the Japanese manufacturer worth $300million (£227m) over a 10-year period. Meanwhile, Williams remains a Nike athlete and she has no plans of going in search of a better deal elsewhere.

“I’m sure he’ll do much for the new brand.” Williams follows Federer on Centre Court at Wimbledon this afternoon when she takes on Viktoriya Tomova in round two. The former world No 1 won her opening tie in straight sets and she is hoping to continue building momentum to take her into the second week of the tournament. “I don't think I was at my best, but I'm practicing much better. I feel as long as I keep going, hopefully I'll be able to get there,” she added.
