Ronaldo scored a stunning winner to help Real Madrid to a 2-1 win over Barcelona in the first leg of the Spanish Super Cup at the Nou Camp.
But the Portuguese superstar picked up a second yellow card for simulation and reacted to his sending off by pushing referee Ricardo De Burgos Bengoetxea.
And the Spanish football federation has announced he will be banned for five games - one for the sending off offence and four for the push.
Ronaldo has also been fined €3,000 for the incident.
“After being shown the red card, the player pushed me gently to show his dissent,” ref De Burgos Bengoetxea wrote in the document that covers all the incidents that occurred in the match.
The suspension means he will miss the second-leg of the El Clasico Super Cup, which takes place on Wednesday at the Bernabeu.
